Existing measures for wastewater treatment work in multiple steps of 3 to 4. They are expensive, time-consuming, and take up a considerable amount of space. Also, skilled operators and high maintenance are required for all of the current solutions.

Nanosolution, our nanotechnology based product will revolutionise the way treatment is done for sewage, pharma, textile and vehicle effluents. Being low cost and requiring only a single step in addition to consuming less space makes it unique and helps apartments, industries and small scale units to comply with Pollution Control Board norms. Using this new nano product, 98% recovery of water is achieved and we have already been successful in recycling 2,58,000 litres of Bus Wash Water from Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation Bus Depots.

An Indigenous Atomic Force

Microscope for Nanotechnology Education

At Shilps Sciences, we have an indigenous, affordable and robust Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). An AFM is used in a high end research lab for imaging at a scale beyond the limits of optical microscopes. The AFM is easy to setup and use and is relevant to a large class of users irrespective of their domains and level of expertise. AFM uses an innovative open design along with novel optics making it useful for nanotechnology education as well as for research in life sciences and nano-engineering.

Biosilica - Tooth and Energy

Silica based nanomaterials serves as an indispensable tool as a material of construction with high surface area and specificity. The Silica nanoparticles (SiNps) were synthesised from rice husks by thermo-chemical method and characterized using various physiochemical techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, SEM–EDX, TEM and XRF. Keeping SiNps as base material, two novel formulations have been made as follows - Dental cavity fillers and Solar panel fabrication material. The results showed enhanced dental remineralisation when compared to the conventional cavity fillers and better conductivity in solar cell power generation.
